Botox for TMJ can be highly effective. TMJ disorders (TMDs) can cause jaw pain, headaches, and other symptoms. Conservative interventions are the first line of treatment, as they can often relieve the symptoms. Botox for TMJ dysfunction can help paralyze some of the muscles involved, reducing pain and other symptoms. However, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not approved it for this condition, so its use is off-label.
